The Great Pumpkin Scarcity Caper

It was all my husband’s idea, because he feeds two teaspoons of pumpkin to the dog every day. I think it has to do with the fiber and producing, how shall I say it, firm output. He’s passionate about a dog’s firm output. Then we started hearing all the scarcity warnings about pumpkin, and I started to get a little antsy, myself, about the Thanksgiving pies. I figured it couldn’t hurt to get myself a few cans in advance of the holidays. But he had something else in mind.

We went to three stores, cleaning out one of them, and got 40 cans, 16 large ones (3 are for me), and 24 of the smaller ones. His first words on looking at the stack? “Oh, that’s not going to be enough.”
